We are proud to welcome world-renowned jockey Frankie Dettori as our latest racing ambassador in his final season before retiring at the end of 2023.

Dettori is set to embark on his farewell tour following a remarkable career in the saddle over the last 35 years. The 52-year-old jockey will call time on his riding career having won (so far) 282 Group One and Grade 1 races worldwide, including 21 British Classic successes. The Italian jockey, regarded as one of the greatest jockeys of all time, will mark the end of his career at the 2023 Breeders’ Cup in Santa Anita.

Howden has a long history of strong support for the equine industry, both as a specialist provider of equine insurance solutions for equestrian associations, racecourses, racehorse trainers, stud farms, riding schools and horse owners, and as an Official Partner of Ascot Racecourse.

Frankie Dettori said: “I am so pleased to be working with Howden for the upcoming flat season; my last as a professional jockey. Howden are great supporters of the sport that has been my life for more than three decades. Having spent the winter in America, I look forward to returning to the UK for the start of the flat turf season and in particular look forward to riding at Ascot, which holds so many special memories for me including of course, the ‘Magnificent Seven’ back in 1996!”

Howden’s Founder and Chief Executive, David Howden, said: “Frankie has been at the top of horseracing for 35 years, both here in the UK and internationally. It is a great privilege for Howden to work alongside him during his final season as a flat jockey. Partnering Frankie, a globally influential sportsman, during his farewell year presents Howden with a unique opportunity to deepen our ties in the equine world, an industry which we’re so passionate about.”
